About Us

Who We Are

The Canadian Truck Operators Association (CTOA) is a national, member-driven association representing drivers, owner-operators, incorporated contractors, fleets of all sizes, and industry partners across Canada’s transportation sector.

CTOA was established to ensure that transportation policy, regulation, and public dialogue are informed by real-world operations, evidence-based analysis, and the lived experience of the professionals who keep Canada moving. We work to provide industry-specific support to our members while engaging constructively with governments, regulators, and stakeholders at both the federal and provincial levels.

Our members operate in every region of the country and reflect the diversity of Canada’s transportation workforce, urban and rural, independent professionals and established businesses, small operators and larger fleets.

Why CTOA Exists

Canada’s trucking and transportation industry is essential to the national economy and supply chain. As the industry has evolved, new business models, technologies, and a more diverse workforce have reshaped how transportation services are delivered.

CTOA exists to ensure that this evolving industry is accurately represented in policy, regulatory, and legislative discussions, and that decisions affecting transportation are grounded in facts, operational realities, and inclusive input.

We believe effective policy must reflect the complexity of modern trucking and the perspectives of those working on the ground every day.

How We Work

CTOA engages with governments, regulators, safety organizations, industry partners, and stakeholders through constructive dialogue, collaboration, and data-driven advocacy.

Our approach is guided by:

  • Member input and operational experience

We focus on solutions that improve safety, promote fairness, and support a resilient transportation system, while protecting responsible operators and legitimate business models.
